Hawkwell Church

Stuart Mennell was appointed Clerk in May 2002. He works part time (mornings) Monday to Friday. Stuart previously worked as a Director at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich and prior to that in the Civil Service.

Diane Scrivener assists Stuart in the office part-time and undertakes a wide range of administrative tasks.   Diane has previously worked in London form many years mainly in financial services institutions.

Dave Abrams joined the Parish in 2007 as our Groundsman as the successor to Brian Jay who retired at the end of March. Dave has many years experience as an agricultural engineer and has a keen interest in the natural world and green issues. He was born and bred in Hawkwell and still lives in the parish.

Les Noad retired as our bus shelter maintenance man at the end of 2006 after almost 40 years of service to the Parish – a remarkable achievement in anyone’s eyes, we wish Les and Doreen well for the future. A new bus shelter cleaning contract was tendered and JVS Cleaning Services Ltd were successful. We look forward to a good working relationship with Jason and his team.

The Essex County Council mobile Library is scheduled to visit Wedgewood Court on Tuesdays between 15:30 and 15:45 and Hawkwell Village Hall on Tuesdays between 16:45 and 17:00

Les Noad has looked after the Parish Bus Shelters for over 30 years and is responsible for general repairs and cleaning the shelters.   This is an unenviable job but one that he is proud to do and he does it well.
